Just bumped into someone who happened to have one of my many dream cameras – The Lytro Illum.  I got a chance to try out the camera and the interface and quality were even better than I had previously thought.  The camera felt really nice in my hands and I was absolutely loving it – until I discovered one extremely annoying catch – sometimes, if you take a photo, in your gallery it appears with a big “X” over it.  This is extremely annoying because if you aren’t the perfect photographer, chances are a lot of the time your photos won’t appear.  This catch makes me believe that the Lytro is not the best camera for day-to-day use, but is incredible for awesome dynamic photos.

EDIT: Just got the cheaper version – the Lytro – and it’s not nearly as cool, good, complex, and normal, yet it’s still fun to have.
